That is one colossal horn! Is it possible to open the heavens with this thing?

I am not sure about the effect on the heavens, but I wouldn’t use it near the St. Andreas fault.UTSAtuba wrote:That is one colossal horn! Is it possible to open the heavens with this thing?

Sam - it looks great.
A veritible howitzer !!! Short stature and wide barrel ...er..resonator.
When you get a chance, post a few of the remaining specs, for all us data mongers!!!! I can guess at your favorite bore dimension!
And the pedigree of components - that is always a fun combination with many of your projects.
Cool horn!!

I don't have a good way of doing a recording of the horn. It probably wouldn't do it justice anyway.DavidK wrote:Sam - it looks great.

Here's some of the remaining specs: Bore: (1-3).687", .734" , .749"; Bell is 19.5" diameter.
I don't think any makers have done a 6/4 with that bore plan. Makes me wonder why .750" or bigger has become the "gold standard" for large horns. This is a very air-efficient horn.
