If you could own any horn, what would it be? pictures are encouraged becuase I just love looking at pictures of tubas. I actually have 3 dream horns.
This big boy, a brand new satin silver smooth as butter Conn 20K, and a Conn 46K. If only I had the money...

I actually have 'my dream tuba' on order - A handmade goldbrass rotary valve Neptune!
I will report with pictures later this year when I go over to Germany to play test at the factory

No Klaus, we are talking about that other beautiful tuba I have just sold - the Cerveny Kaiser
PS I have just withdrawn the 2040/5 from sale - just too unique for me to part!

Of course I (as a collector) better like that attitude even if I am painfully aware of the dough it takes. I only saw the 2040 announcement this afternoon. And fortunately I managed to pilfer the photos.

I've left them up anyway as 'horn-dorn' for Tubenetters to enjoy

I actually already have one of my dream tubas, a Meinl Weston Thor. It really does have the "hammer sound" as advertised.
As far as my other dream tuba is concerned, the new Miraphone Petrushka model is definitely it!

It's 28 in silver. I was looking into that one before I decided on the Cerveny

Adam Peck wrote: George, The very, very large silver plated tuba in the above picture is a Rudolf Meinl 6/4 BBb tuba. 22 inch bell, c .886" bore. It has been discussed in previous threads. Despite it's enormous proportions it is reported to play and respond very well. Being a Rudy fan I too would love to own one of these!
Once one reminds oneself sufficiently to use slow, thick, warm air, that horn speaks beautifully. Gorgeous, round, yet well pronounced sound. This is certainly on my wish list.

wow, nice idea! But unless unexpected income comes my way, financial realities will not allow.
I expect my standard Neptune to be available for sale shortly after I trial the handmade version.
