Suite from J.F.K. (John Williams)

Post by Steve Marcus »

I'm playing this piece for the first time tomorrow evening. Only pages 1 and 2 of the tuba part were included in the music packet, and those contain mostly long notes and some multi-meter rest counting.

Does anything extraordinary happen in the tuba part in the latter portion of the suite (end of "Motorcade" and the segment called "Arlington")? Is a mute required (it's not in the first two pages)?

Thanks very much!

Now I know why. We're performing only the first portion of the suite, "Theme from J.F.K."

Thanks. I brought the mute, but it was not called for.

Yup, better safe than sorry,
