On one of the music blogs I check frequently a digitized version of Polish tubist Zdzislaw Piernik's album "Piernik Plays" was put up for people to download. This blog reposts albums from the Avant-Garde Project, a website where out-of-print LPs are digitized and hosted for downloading. The AVP puts their albums up as FLACs, and this other blog converts them into mp3s for easier download and access. I'll put both links here, for people who might want either the mp3s or the FLACs. It seems that this album is very hard to find, so it is very lucky for us tuba players that the guys over at the AVP put this album up for all to download!

(album is on a posting made last Saturday, 4/27)
And here's another Piernik album on the AVP website, including what might be the first recording of the Penderecki Cappricio.

For those who want some info on this great tuba player, here's a small bio written by the late, great John Griffiths.
