Meinl Weston 2155 Bell Ring

Post by TubaCoopa »

I recently purchased a Meinl Weston 2155, and the previous owner had installed a wooden ring on the inside of the bell to dampen some of the ringing. Having heard mixed results on this topic, I was wondering what the general public thought. Does this model in particular have a very loud, resonant, or annoying ring?

Goodness, Neptune! Are you still at home? I have those 'jumbos' packed up and I'm ready to leave at 6am Wednesday morning.

I'm on my way first thing tomorrow morning as well (complete with Cerveny Kaiser). Sounds like my journey may be quicker than yours!!!

I presume you are stopping overnight on route? Look forward to seeing you Thursday!

To be perfectly honest, I always thought the production 2145,2155,2165 horns needed a little MORE ring to them, as tends to be found in the handmade variants and in some of their successive models.

No. We'll be arriving at about the same time that you land. We're staying there overnight on Wednesday. I only have one time zone to go through... backwards! You'll be gaining six hours. It's about an eight hour drive for us. :)
