Indeed. I wish I could be there to watch them lose themselves! Reminds me of a similar incident when I was in grad school: spring semester, weather warming up, windows opening. Everyone started getting into a "stereo war," with each guy progressively turning up. When the cacophony finally got unbearable, I put both of my Genesis 210's in the window and cranked the "Lohengren" excerpt off the Beatles' Help! album through my Yamaha 960II 100w integrated amp -- you know, the model that Carver made them stop making due to patent infringement. I wouldn't want to say it's a great integrated amp, but I'm still using it in my home entertainment center now some 25 years hence, because I can't find anything that sounds better this side of $XX,XXX.

When I was done, everybody else had shut their systems completely off.

Haha. I actually only got yelled at for practicing once...it was when I was subbing on euph and had to shed my parts (they were easy, but I hadn't done treble or Bb horns for a while). Other than that, the people in the room across from me often had a party on Friday night with really loud music...they were really cool guys so no one minded, but it'd be funny to blow them out of the water with the low brass section
