Meh. There is a reason these valvesets are pretty rare. They work pretty well, but the plumbing isn't conducive for a 4 valve cluster, the seal isn't as good as normal pistons, and the Conn short action is better overall. Beautiful horn, but more interesting from a historical perspective than a performance one.

Shore is purtier than mine! From a collector point of view this is a great buy. I only know of three others.

I'm having trouble getting the US Patent Office website to display the Holton 'short-action' patents. Does anyone have a proper link?
