I've got one of those horns, but it's offsite - on consignment at a friend's music store - so I'm working from memory, but I think your sample has the slides swapped.
I remember disassembling it to clean, and having the same problem when I put it all back together. Took some slide swapping and reversing to make everything seat.
Mine has the newer valve setup - nylon valve guides - but I used to own one with the older ring rig like that horn. It worked great. Smooth, quiet, and looked rugged enough, but I was concerned about the availability of repair parts, should something eventually wear out. I didn't keep it long enough to find out how it holds up, though. Sold it.

Those are terrific little horns, aren't they? A bonus feature was that the hard case fit in my car's relatively shallow trunk. Best of luck to you on your new horn.

I agree. Sounds like the slides are swapped, and the horn is more than 2 years old -- Mine is right at 2 now, and has the more familiar style valve guides.

If you don't need to play loud, it's a great horn! Enjoy.

The old-style valve guides on my Weril were a disappointment. They worked at first, but after a year or two the brass rods started to wear, causing the valves to stick, and oil did not help. I was able to obtain replacements from the dealer (Dillon) but I doubt if they are still available. A student of mine bought a newer Weril with conventional valve guides which worked much better.
