Looking for a CC tuba

Post by wphstubaboy »

Hey I am a finance major who just enjoys playing tuba on the side and I am in the market for a new horn. I wouldnt say im great but I know how to play and I am a member of the USF tuba studio(on and off depending on semester course load). I am looking for a quality horn, nothing flashy at a price that wont kill my already stretched wallet. My price range is 2500-3000, and I know that pretty much puts me in the used horn category which im cool with. Any tips, pointers, or feedback on a type of horn or model that isnt pricey and will give me a good sound to work with would be really appreciated. *note* up til this point I have been playing on a Conn 3J CC which I have to say was just delightful. I am also selling my 186 BBb on the other thread so take a look if you are interested.

Be easy tuba brethren,

G. Rich

Buy this:

I had one for a few years, and it would have been perfect for me for college.

Or, cross your fingers and bid on this:

I currently own one of these w/detachable bell. That one will be staying with me for a long, long time. :)
