I am looking for a tuba solo with brass band to perform at the next United States Army Band Tuba Euph conference. Any suggestions are welcome - since I spent 7 years playing excerpts in a practice room my skope is slighlty limited . .
Concertino - Philip Sparke - it's a proper belter! multiphonics cadenza section about 14 mins long.
Fnugg Blue - Oystein Baadsvik ( look at Oystein's web page for more information) or check youtube for the first performance with the stavanger brass band
Tor Eiriks Song - Arr Ray Farr - on the Eirik the Viking CD
Capriccio - Rodney Newton
Cyrano - Philip Wilby - written for Joe Cook ( Solo Tuba Black Dyke Band ) 2 section concerto - very fine piece of music
Peter Meechan "Concerto" - Written on the request of Les Neish - First Performed with the Beaumaris band in Norway in 2005
If anyone can get hold of "Matto Grosso" By James Gourley - fantastic piece of music , monster bass parts , massive solo passage for Eb tuba..
The Ellerby concerto is NOTHING like the euphonium one in style. The tuba concerto is very out there, and hard as snot, for band and soloist. It would be great to hear this at TUSAB.
BTW, is the Darrol Barry readily available? I didn't know it was with brass band.

I have a piece, Mr C Takes a Stroll which might be worth a look.
Preview solo part (Eb, Bb or Bass clef) and sound clip are on my website http://www.colinbugby.co.uk" target="_blank" target="_blank .
I charge for the band parts though
The piano version is also on sibeliusmusic.com
There is a fun concert band arrangement of the Canadian Brass version of "That's a Plenty" - for a quintet with band, but it is mostly a tuba solo. I had a great time with it a couple of years ago.
