Honolulu Tuba Players!

Post by nateglee »

Hello, my name is Nate Lee and I will be in Honolulu from the 6th to the 12th of January. I was wondering if there are any tuba players in the Honolulu area (or if you know any if you aren't from Honolulu) that might be able to let me rent a C tuba from them for the time I will be spending there. I think in the long run it would be cheaper paying $100 to rent one while I'm there than bringing one with me and paying the ridiculously high baggage charges. I am auditioning for grad schools a few weeks after I get back and just need something to keep my chops up.

If you are from Honolulu or know somebody who is email me at

nateglee at gmail dot com

Or you can message me here on TubeNet

Thanks Guys!

Why not contact the University of Hawaii's Music Dept. chair, and practise on campus, meet and greet, expand your contacts, and maybe play in an ensemble for fun.

why don't you google the honolulu symphony, and ask them to put you in touch with their tuba player. maybe he will have one.

Check the musicians' union. I sat next to a very pleasant and knowledgeable union officer on my last flight to Hawaii. He noticed that I was reading a tuba sight reading book and introduced himself. He knew many tuba players.
