I just found out that the next edition of the San Francisco Traditional Jazz Foundation's publication "Frisco Cricket" will have a 5 page article devoted to Joe Tarto (Titian of the Tuba) by Brian Nalepka! (tubist with Leon Redbone, John Gill, and many others.)
If you are not a member of that organization, here is the website for more information. Some articles from this publication are available on line, but I just found out that it will not be "free" on line for at least a year - so you will have to join the foundation to read it.

Thanks for this, David!
Every year I visit the Upstate 78 rpm record barns to extract all of the interesting tuba discs I can, Tarto's vast output included. Would love to read this article!
