Hello,
I own one of Mr. Gnagey's excellent CC tubas, and I was wondering if anyone who owns one of these
has experience in using a harness with it? The body is similar to a King 2341, so anyone who owns one
of those, feel free to chime in as well.
Thanks

I don't use a strap...mainly due to there being only one thing to attach a strap to (and I would rather have 2 just to make it easier) but I found a way to play it while standing up. Though, it gets a little heavy after 5 minutes...

I've seen at least one guy do this, standing for a whole show - no strap, just hoisted up his full size C Hirsbrunner or whatever it was and played. (Good player, too.)Arkietuba wrote:I don't use a strap...mainly due to there being only one thing to attach a strap to (and I would rather have 2 just to make it easier) but I found a way to play it while standing up. I've seen people do this as well. I have to agree with you though, that after 5 min, I can't tolerate supporting the weight of the instrument by myself. And unfortunately I think I might have to go with a harness, unless I want to have rings welded onto the horn as there are none.

Re: Gnagey Tuba Owners
Does anyone have a decent picture of the M-W Weston strap? Or does anyone have experience with the using the Neotech/M-W strap with this type of tuba. Yes, I have already scoured the forum for info and found not much about the M-W, and mixed reviews about the Neotech. I get the feeling that while the M-W would be a good choice, I have not strap rings to attach it with...
