Tuba Exchange Eb comp. tuba

Hi-
While browsing, I noticed that Tuba Exchange now has their own line for a 19" bell compensating 4 piston .689 Eb tuba--I would think this is a Chinese copy/clone of a Besson 'Fletcher' Eb tuba--anybody play this horn yet? Just curious how it plays. Thanks.

Is the lead pipe actually as low as it is in the picture on the Tuba Exchange web site? It looks like it comes out at collarbone level.

I also notice that TE offer a home brand compensating euphonium. I'd be interested in opinions on those if anybody has purchased one.

I don't know anything about the Tuba Exchange 3+1 comp Eb, but the Jupiter 983 Eb copy played very nicely (pretty close to the 983 and possibly just as well). The Jupiter rep said there are going to be a few more changes (including the angle of the valve set) and that it might be out in 2 years. The St. Pete Eb was also pretty nice, and lists for less than the 3+1 TE horn.

That new Jupiter "Besson 983" Eb copy sounds interesting. I've heard some really good things about the St. Pete Eb horn as well. The TMEA Convention will be here soon enough, so I will be getting my hands "dirty"

Is the said Jupiter Eb a compensator after the Blaikley system?

Yes the 983 copy is compensated. Jupiter also has/had a 3+1 non-comp Eb that I don't believe was ever listed in the U.S.

I owned one of these Jupiter non-comp, 3+1 EEb tubas for a while. Bought it in Australia. It was OK, much the same as a YEB321 to play, but a little brighter in tone than the Yamaha.
