Here's a 5 valve CC Sax-o-tuba that Harvey Hartman and I made for Sergio Carolino.

It's fun instrument that plays really well.

Doesn’t it look like the bell and branches are from Conn 2XJ BBb? If so the sound would on the fat side.

I just played it again yesterday. Its made out of a king tuba 2341 cut to CC. I need put one more brace on it and its finished.Then it needs to be shipped to Portugal.Lots of work, A few custom hand made parts. Thats Because Tim is in whats left of the 28" of snow we got here in Boyertown, Pa. He helped move all that snow... It was nice to have his help for the Snow and the Tuba!!!

That looks like a Cool horn also thanks for the picture... I have alot of old parts and pieces But one thing I need more of is levers for 5th valves....This one I made ,is out of a Conn Cornet Valve in a Hisbunner Tube, Two top caps? a new King tuba valve spring,.. After silver soldering a small brass plate on the bottom of the valves,I tapped threads in it, Add the rod & a spring and works great...This way it comes apart and can be oiled.

Hi....The Bell comes off, It has a sousaphone goose neck and bets to take off and the Horn comes apart in the middle,I made it that way, Thanks Harv.

Sérgio wanted to try it out the moment he go it so he's playing at the Port. This is how he and the horn sounded just out of the box. Give him a few days and he'll sound better.
