They have updated their website with their new instruments and I noticed that they have 2 different CC tubas. The 1000S is the basic 5 valve CC and the 1000 is a hand built 5 valve CC. They added a 3+1 EEb Tuba, the 4 rotor valve Tenor Tuba, and their new 1291 clone.
Also there is an F Contrabass trombone.

HI-
Actually, the one CC is a 5 valve rotary--the one that has been discussed. The other one, which I am told is coming in a few months, is the 1291 CC 5v clone--yes, the 5v CC 4 piston, 1 rotor 1291 clone!

Not quite right. There are two versions of the 186 clone. The standard model and the hand built. I emailed them earlier today to check on the differences.
I look foward to the 1291 CC clone when it comes out.

Hand built?? How else would they do it? now.... hand MADE would be a totally different story.goodsn4 wrote:..... There are two versions of the 186 clone. The standard model and the hand built. I emailed them earlier today to check on the differences. .....
Reminds me of a cartoon from a few years ago... "out potato chips are untouched by human hands" ... it was a caption under a picture of a chimp shoving chips into a bag!

There was a listing for the TU 5000 Bb 'mini-tuba'/euph. Wish someone would buy it and tell us what it can do.

Maybe its " Built by Han " ? regardless, I tooted the Dillon stencils a few weeks back and these horns just keep getting better. The gap has definately been narrowed...just my two cents

Re: Tuba MM website
I am assuming that by hand built means more care is put into the manufacturing process during assembly (i.e. solder points).
