Suggestions for Tuba solos with Brass Band

Post by Frank Ortega »

Hi Guys and Gals,

Anyone have suggestions for solo tuba and Brass Band?
Looking more for serious works than novelty pieces.
Where to find the sheet music would be helpful too.

Thanks,

Joe Cook's CD "Debut" has a piece by Philip Wilby entitled "Cyrano" - it's a nice two movement work. The Gregson sounds BEST with brass band, also Ellerby, Golland, and Horovitz concerti.

I'm not sure of the level of the band you'll be working with, but the Gregson is the most playable of the five mentioned in regards to difficulty.

Have fun!
