Rapid articulation device?

Post by RyanMcGeorge »

Hello,

Does anyone know anything about a device that fits into your lead pipe (I'm assuming like a berp) that you can push a button and it somehow articulates for you, allowing the player to sound like they are tonguing extremely fast? I think it was an experimental device from about 10 years ago. I know this is random but if anyone knows anything about it I would really appreciate any info.

Thanks!

I don't remember where I saw it (Maybe eBay?), but I do remember this one device for that purpose. I believe it was a mouthpiece with a sort-of piston valve in the shank that just interrupted the air when you activated it.

Sorry, I don't remember anything else about it!

There was someone who regularly posted on here from Nevada who posted that mouthpiece. I can't remember his name and I haven't seen him post on here in a while. Hope this helps.

Had a nasty case of that once myself.... There's cream for that.

An older brass band arrangement of Verdi’s overture for La Forza del Destino asked string tremolos being emulated by rapid valve tremolos on alternative fingerings. The minor third distances between the 5th & 6th and the 6th & 7th was exploited by rolling the 3rd valve on top of normal fingerings.

Is that the cream Elton John recommended, during a TV show, for certain ballistics?

Thanks Bob!

Do you know by chance where I can purchase one? I emailed Dave through his website but haven't received a response. I haven't found anything searching online either... just thought I'd ask. Thanks for the info!
