Please "baer" with me if this anecdote has already made the rounds on this forum.
Yamaha* has recalled 20,000 tubas due to a problem with pedals sticking, causing tubists to play out of control, resulting in a dangerous number of accidentals.
The sticky pedal [notes] also make it harder for tubists to come to a full stop at the end of a piece, making it extremely risky for audiences. Although there have been a tremendous number of accidentals, fortunately it has so far caused no deafs.
Analysts are wondering if it will bring to a rest their bass [base] market and if they will be able to sustain sales. Congress is also considering calling in the President of Yamaha for questioning as to when the company first learned about the treble.
*Yamaha owners and employees should take this in good humor as there is no other major Japanese tuba maker. Toyota, on the other hand...

Re: Tuba Recall
So when is MW issuing their recall?

I heard that Yamaha is recalling some of their xeno trumpets as well, due to murder on the high C's...Steve Marcus wrote: The sticky pedal [notes] also make it harder for tubists to come to a full stop at the end of a piece, making it extremely risky for audiences. Re: Tuba Recall
At least there is, so far, less of a body count than when Olds had to recall it's plastic valve Pinto tubas. When struck from behind by a out-of-control tympanist, tubists often burst into flames.
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?
