Re: Building a Fluba BBb
Besides practicing on your tuba - are you doing some serious weight training as well? To play this instrument you are going to have to have arms like my legs!
Beginning again to be a tuba player.

The horn was order by a young Man.( Sebastian Torjusen) In his pictures he looks pretty Tuff. I think he can handle it.

Re: Building a Fluba BBb
You'ld need strong arms AND a VERY strong lower back.
This is bigger than a drum corps Euphonium and a LOT heavier.
Maybe go the same route as Jim Self and put a removable "leg" on it. Like he did with his key of F "Fluba," named "Peg"
Cool stuff Harv. Keep up the good work!

What a difference a little reorientation makes in the looks department and it does look great Harv. Is there a noticeable difference in how it plays and sounds?

The fluba plays very well & in tune,Sounds just like the BBb Tuba that it was. I have to wait till the rain stops here in the North east to lacquer it. The yourg men wants copper colored tint put it the lacquer .I have 26 hours in it with out the lacquering. I will post a Picture when its finished,It was fun horn to make.
