I'm heading east to visit the in-laws toward the end of the month. Wish me luck.

I've been having trouble finding a Cerveny Piggy on which to blow. I've tried two over the years and have recently grown more seriously interested. There don't seem to be any of them in Southern California, so I'm wondering if anyone in the Harrisburg, PA, Washington, DC, or Southern Maryland vicinities might have one to help me with this decision.

I'm not going to be able to make it to the NYC area on this trip. Maybe in a couple of months, though.

Matt does not regularly stock this horn at Dillon's and has none right now anyway.

Baltimore Brass does not have any right now.

Mr. Megs email doesn't seem to work. When I try the phone number on the website, I get a home answering machine. Something tells me he's not going to have much inventory. It would be a 5-hour round trip that would be hard to squeeze into this visit anyway.

Not going to be able to go as far as South Carolina, which is a real shame, because I love Low Country Cuisine. Thanks, Jon.

Business travel this summer should take me to NY, Nashville, SFO and elsewhere. I'll try again once my schedule gets set.

Now maybe you easterners are used to a lot more driving than I am, which is highly doubtful given that I live in L.A.--or maybe you think that because I live in L.A. I think nothing of long drives, but geez:

Harrisburg to NYC: 154 miles each way
Harrisburg to South Bend: 571 miles each way
DC to South Carolina: 485 miles each way



Remember, the "real" purpose of this trip is a family visit . . . .

Well, there's a WHOLE lot of country that's a much farther drive from any of these places (or even, any major tuba store). DC to NYC isn't a short drive, but it ain't so bad either, considering the number of major metropolitan areas you go through. We like our cities close out here.
