Lebedev sheet music--where to buy?

Post by Norm in Bellevue »

I've done a cursory search for someplace to purchase Lebedev's "Concert Allegro" and his other compositions for tuba/piano, but I'm having no luck. Are there several editions, or just one? And who sells them? Recently I've become quite interested in Lebedev's music after listening repeatedly to bass trombonist Randall Hawes' CD, "Melodrama." What a glorious sound he makes!

Thanks in advance.

Lebedev's Concerto in One Movement is edited by Allen Ostrander and published by Edition Musicus. (That's whay my copy says anyway.) I think the Concerto Allegro is a different work.

I'm sorry. I don't remember where I bought it.

I would check Hickeys.com

I actually prefer the original, not edited by Ostrander, version of the Concerto in One Movement. It would be significantly more difficult on Bass Trombone, but on the Tuba it's not bad at all. Hope this helps. :)

All of Lebedev's music is in print at Hofmeister. That is
*the Concerto in 1 mvt.
*the Concert Allegro (definitely a different piece!)
*three small pieces with piano
*a book of etudes
*Concerto no. 2
If I remember well, you can order directly from Hofmeister.
