Oklahoma!

Post by Mike Finn »

Just a heads-up to all my Sooner State friends, I've sent a selection of tuba and euphonium mouthpieces to Tulsa Band on approval. If anyone is interested in trying some out, this would be a good time to call them. (I believe some of them may already be out on trial.)

As always, thank you for your support.

One of the all time best shows to play, but you gotta get your hands on the string bass part.

I am convinced that 90% of the problems with rhythm, tone, intonation, articulation, technique, and overall prowess on the horn are related to air issues.

Cute. Use the bedlam football series record as evidence of OU superiority in something. How typical of a Sooner fan.

I would never post something so gauche. Nor would I mention that OSU has a total of 49 NCAA championships (4th best in division I) while Oklahoma isn't even in the top 15 among D-I schools with 19 (source). No, I would never say something like that. Because football is the only thing that matters, of course.

Nice. Except that 46 of those 49 championships are in the cash-cow sports of rasslin', golf and cross country. Kudos to those students, but it also explains why T. Boone had to bankroll the renovation to Old Rusty. Besides, I was actually referring to the minimum IQ, tooth count, and FFA awards necessary for admission to the tractor college.

And re: superiority...well...

And 15 of Oklahoma's 19 are in wrestling and mens gymnastics. Is your point that wrestling shouldn't count? Oh, that's right...of course not...OSU has been overwhelmingly dominant in that sport. Therefore, it doesn't count.

Spare me the billionaire envy. It's so 2007. At least he doesn't hand out cash to our basketball players. Must be hard to watch old "little brother" creep up on you year after year without cheating.
MileMarkerZero wrote:Besides, I was actually referring to the minimum IQ, tooth count, and FFA awards necessary for admission to the tractor college.
Yeah, sure. Just happened to be the exact numbers for the Bedlam football series. Uh-huh. And thanks for the insult on the school where I got my degrees. I didn't call OU an elitist tea-sipper ivory tower, but I certainly could have.

Yes, I agree. Elitists everywhere find OU superior in every way. Nice sources. Normal Oklahoma folk appreciate the family atmosphere at OSU.

Naw. Arguing with OU fans is a welcome break from practicing or writing. And it's just so DARN easy.

Well, what do you expect when you reruit cow-tippers? Point still stands: take the money realized by OSU from all 34 rasslin championships combined (even the ones NOT won by cheating), and it doesn't make up the petty cash OU earns from one BigXII championship game. In the BigXII, football is king. Always has been, always will be.

Yeah, your basketball coaches spend all their money on booze. Billionaire envy? LOL!! http://newsok.com/osu-projects-affected ... nes_widget

Which explains why he didn't turn loose of the money until after it was decimated in the economic meltdown. Besides, our millionaires have given more than T. Boone is worth.

Any time. What are big brothers for, anyway? Tea-sipper? Wrong aggy. Wrong superior big brother. You're looking for Collie Station and Austin.

I get it...you're only paranoid because everyone is against you, right? You don't find USNews & World Reports and Forbes to be valiod sources? What is? The morning farm report? The National Enquirer/

None of those normal Oklahoma folk frequent the Whataburger.

And watching OSU fans try to one-up OU is high comedy.

Because the lyrics to texas bites are so much more intellectual?

Isn't it ironic that texas named their stadium after a Sooner?

What's really funny about the fight song thing is that "Boomer Sooner" is actually pieced together from Boala Boala from Stanford (I think, anyways) and "I'm Tarheel Born" from North Carolina. And don't worry; for all of you people out there wondering if the band hates playing it as much as you hate hearing it, yes, we do (or I did, when I was in). And after growing up in Oklahoma and attending college there, you have to understand, there is NOTHING else to do but argue about college sports. I still love it, though. Hey, and the Thunder are in the NBA playoffs!
