Schilke mpc shank sizes?

Post by bort »

Do Schilke mouthpieces come in different shank sizes? I just got my hands on a Schilke 67, but it doesn't go in the receiver as far as my Baer MMVI Standard. But I see no options for Schilke shanks online. Help? :)

(Say "Schilke shank" 3 times fast!)

Has anyone actually measured it? It could be the "in between" .525 to fit more tubas.

The Baer MMVI Standard tapers more gradually than other mouthpieces I encounter-- so it goes pretty deep into the reciever. I just tried one that bottomed out on the Standard size bit of my AGR and I was unable to use it.

Thanks everyone... the Baer MMVI standard is a perfect fit, so is my old Bach 18. No calipers here to measure though...
