TubaTinker: do you thinks $2 grand is a bit steep for this horn, or is it one of these ideal vintage horns?
Beginning again to be a tuba player.
1291 King Double B flat with detachable bell.

Given that Music & Arts is advertising new Conn 20K sousaphones for $5,999.00 - $7,229.00.... why wouldn't this horn be worth perhaps half that amount of money? The seller is a repairman and tuba player. I understand that the valves on the 'mammoth' were overhauled in 1990.
