Yamaha 103

Post by Michael Bush »

I'm selling my Yamaha 103 on ebay. I don't know that a Tubenetter will want this entry-level horn, but figured it couldn't hurt to tell you about it. Some people like them. I like it myself, just don't see myself using it much in the foreseeable future.

Fun horns. I wish Yamaha made them in a four-valved version. The best thing about it.... you can't put the pistons in the wrong holes! :)

Isn't that what the YBB-621 is?

it's true that the YBB-621 has four pistons but any similarity to the YBB-103 would have to be a stretch of the imagination.

I learn something new every day! Didn't realize they were so different!

37 watchers today and 382 page views so far. I'm surprised there's so much interest in this little horn. (But I'm glad.)

It's going to a school in Oregon to start one new tuba player a year, the buyer tells me.

Weird

Post by Michael Bush »

How weird is it that some guy is now selling another 103 on eBay using large chunks of my description? It feels rather creepy to me, almost like being stalked or something. What a doofus.

It might be a scam ad. This happens a lot. Frequently they will just re-use your ad, same text and photos. Very creepy. One time some guy used some of Rick's photos from his webpage. We all recognized them and it was pulled that same day, I believe.
Most of the scam ads on e-bay are for highly desirable, high dollar horns. No offense, but the Yammy 103, while a decent little horn, is neither of those things. I think he coincidently had a 103 to sell, saw your ad copy and liked it. I could be wrong...
That's how I saw it too, because enough of it is different that it seems clear that he actually has a 103 to sell. He didn't just copy my entire description. He used bits and pieces, enough to be recognizable, but not a simple copy and paste.
