Ummmmmmm, Is that you with the keyboard in the avatar? Handy things those, especially with a midi output, as with a notation program you can play in the part and produce your own sheet music.

Back in prehistoric times at the old Ýour Father's Mustache Club''and some other places, we would pass the lead around, taking it up the next scale step with each change and maybe even throwing in a minor key. Generally accelerating as we went.

Some good ear training - set a midi track and transpose it into different keys then play back and play what ever accomp part you want. Oh yes, don't forget to learn all the lead lines as well - somebody just might ask for a tooba solo.

Here's a couple of choruses. This is just an idea...PLEASE don't just play these two choruses over and over. Have some fun with it and change it up a little as the tune progresses. This should get you started, though.

Nope.
There are going to be a few kazoo players, an accordion, a trombone, three trumpets and me on jumbo sousaphone

That'll work! Probably should have something less upbeat to play once you get to the grave site -- an excerpt from "London Dairy Air", perhaps?

There is a version by a San Francisco band called "Brass Monkey" that modulates just about every time (in minor keys) until it resolves at the end - works pretty well! There is a small sample clip on their website, but the 6 minute version is actually interesting.
