RIP Richard Nahatzki

Post by Mojo workin' »

This message from Bob Tucci was forwarded to me from Ed Goldstein. Sorry for the late posting, I was waiting for permission to post it here.

With deep regret I have to pass on the sad news that our friend and
colleague Rich Nahatzki has passed away. Richard was born on January
15, 1949 and was a member of various orchestras including the State
Theater in Kassel, the Saarland Radio Symphony Orchestra and until his
retirement, the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra.

Richard had been in treatment at a clinic in Berlin, was diagnosed with
a brain tumor and thereafter refused food, water or medicine. I have no
further details but will attempt to learn more in the next few days.

Rich was born in Baltimore and attended Peabody Conservatory of Music. He was also a phenomenal rock drummer, quite a unique character.
