Crowd Pleasers, Zany

One of the many concert bands in this area usually does some pretty serious stuff-------but has to resort to some crazy, light-weight pieces to please the crowd. Here's an example:

The piece is called the Duck and the WoodPecker. The music starts around 3:30.

Actually, the music is so cute, I enjoyed it. :oops:

I went to BoCo with her.

She is an excellent clarinet player who happens to have a REAL job.

Yes, she is an excellent musician. All of that band's personnel are carefully auditioned. That particular clip was probably a performance at a retirement home and directed to light-weight pieces for seniors. For the band's formal concerts, programming is more ambitious and at a higher level.
