I have seen another compensating cornet, where the 3rd valve loop bypassed the 2nd piston because it is very difficult to make the second comp loop short enough. This sample has that loop partially placed in the 2nd piston with only a small bump to be seen on the 2nd piston casing.

Sadly the price is wildly disproportionate to the assumed playing value of this cornet.

I suspect that if one is looking at this for a playable cornet, then they're compensating for something else...
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

Wie immer: Der Keller ist tief!

As a collector with limited space, I have to filter by some criteria. Price obviously being one, playability being another. Of course I don’t expect the same level of playability from the very old instruments as from those from more recent decades.

Noticed that too -- it seems there's no "descant discount" ...

However I have heard several discount descants.
