Southern Music - Northern Style

Post by pwhitaker »

Some recent cuts from the State Street Traditional Jazz Band. I'm using a circa 1941 6/4 BBb Holton recording bass.

This was taken with my weekly trio gig at the Farmer's Market in Portland, Maine on July 14:

That was some great tuba playing with a fine band. Thank you for sharing it!

I know you pay for it in the winter, but I'm jealous of the outdoor c. 65° - 75° summertime outdoor gigs that you can do.

We do have rather bracing winters. We also have way too many 90+ degree days here with high humidity in the summer. The upper airstream changed in the late 1970's and now we are blessed with the muggy hot air from the more southerly regions. I moved up here from Washington D.C. in 1972 to escape that sweltering air and it followed me up here a few years later. ... 'Que sera sera'.
