Blood, Sweat & Tears video with tuba solo

Post by humphrey »

Hi all

Don't know if this has been posted previously but I stumbled across it today.

It's a mash up of videos of the song "And When I Die" taken since the group first started playing it. At about 3'35" it shows Dave Bargeron (I think...... Certainly sounds like him) ripping up a tuba solo. This is not the same solo famously recorded on their Live album but has a lot of the same ideas.

Enjoy

Awesome video! I love Blood, Sweat and Tears, they've just got such a great groove.

Used to love playing their stuff . . . very fun music, for both audience and performers!

It looks like he's playing a Besson 3 valved compensated tuba.

According to Wikipedia, he plays a Besson EEb.

Yes, he does, a silverplated EEb. In this clip it looks like he is playing a laquered BBb.
And I believe it has 4 valves.

It is a BBb in the video. Fingerings match the pitch for a BBb. Cool vid.
