A Old war horse
I know it is mainly a matter of preference but what is the difference between piston vales and rotary valves? Is there a different sound to each one I know their is a maintenance difference but is there anything else. Thanks

nope. Not that I know of. Sometimes people will say that one gets differnent sound characteristics or better legato with one vs. another. I have not observed any difference in sound performance that is at all related to the valve type.TYA wrote:I know it is mainly a matter of preference but what is the difference between piston vales and rotary valves?
