I'm not in the market for this horn, but I don't see pre-"ph" 188's show up too often.
Thought I'd just throw it out there for those interested. Looks like a nice horn, has been taken good care of.

Re: MiraFone 188 on ebay
Seems like a lot for a MiraFone with an "F"... those are considerably older than the 188's that usually fetch $6k or more. Looks nice though. Always creepy to see tuba ads with people in them though...

Certainly looks good for a forty-year-old horn.

Re: MiraFone 188 on ebay
I think this horn is from the mid 1980's. If you use the chart from musictrader.com as a source for serial numbers, and the average production rate is about 500 - 600 units per year with the odd 1000 number year, I think about the mid 1980's.

Re: MiraFone 188 on ebay
I've purchased several instruments from the seller over the years. Its a small business thats been around for decades. They are very good at service AFTER you buy and will go out of their way to make sure you are completely satisfied. They are also one of the few music shops that has a 2 year warranty serviced in house.
I saw the horn a few days ago, it looked immaculate, and appears to be a great deal for someone looking for a 188.
