I hear fantastic trombone playing, but not all of those fabulous efforts seem to be making their way (on the seemingly very high-grade audio track) from the players' lips into the hall.

At least you prefaced that ridiculous statement.

Prefaced or not - come on, man...

I think some guys named Alessi, Finlayson, etc. disagree.

I am pretty sure Finlayson plays a Bach so I'm not sure he would disagree.

Wow, man. You took the piss out of me. Congratulations.

His colleagues Alessi and Markey are both Edwards artists, however.

Since you missed my point by a country mile, let me explain. It is my opinion that the statement "Bach trombone sound is the best" is not necessarily true. It is Bloke's opinion that it is true. I disagree with Bloke. We are both entitled to our respective opinions.

Which Bach sound? I've owned 5, (1974, 1985 and 1995 42B, 1970? and 1993 50B) and they were all very different sounding and feeling instruments. Give me a cold war era Olds and I am a happy camper.
I am fortunate to have a great job that feeds my family well, but music feeds my soul.

Nope. Just correcting false statements. I really don't care what these guys play on because they would be able to make student trombones sound amazing.
