I just don't understand in what world a 3 valve Eb tuba, no matter how old or nicely refurbished, would ever be worth $3500. There may have been that much work put into it, but I would think the market value for this would be more like $1500 tops. Am I missing something?

That horn's been there forever. The worst part is that it's probably not even a decent player (spread octave, wonky low register,...).
