Three Marzans on eBay!
I can't believe nobody posted these here. There were three (3) Marzan tubas for sale on eBay this morning. One piston and two slant rotor horns, all with cases and from the same seller. They all needed a little TLC but looked playable. All the auctions were won by the same bidder, two for $1300 and one for $1500. Was that you TubaTinker?

Re: Three Marzans on eBay!
I don't know, I have seen alot worse condition horns for sale. After all, they were still in one piece!
The leadpipes still looked OK and all the branches and tuning slides were still aligned straight. Will they need some repairs, undoubtably. But there was real potenial with them if they are in the right hands. I think we all know that TubaTinker would be the right hands to work on them.

Those are such un-gratifying pictures! Maybe it's the same person that Baltimore Brass uses to take their Web page photos now...Bob Kolada wrote:Also a 32J-

Donatelli? She said back then that her late husband had played in the Birmingham Symphony (Alabama Symphony Orchestra) and that he had purchased it years earlier from someone that had played in The Philadelphia Orchestra.

It looked like the same person bought all three horns.

I don't know what the buyer is looking for, but, as they say, they'll have to pry my slant rotor CC from my cold, dead lips!tclements wrote:'splain to me, please. Why would someone buy 3 old POS tubas? Thanks!
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

Re: Three Marzans on eBay!
The guy selling has an amazingly steady supply of old horns. Interestingly, almost all the sousaphones he sells are not equipped with a neck or bits. I'm guessing that he haunts the school districts and has connections.
Happiness is a warm tuba.
