Wanted - YEB-381 Eb Tuba Pics

Post by J.c. Sherman »

Hi All!

I'm slowly nearing completion of a special Yamaha-inspired project, but I need some info - pictures, actually - of the 5th valve mechanism on these beauties, front back and lever.

For those of you not in the know, Yamaha's YEB-321 4 valve Eb had a cousin with a 5th valve, the YEB-381. Damn fine horn, but like the 5th valve available on the comparable Euph, it was discontinued since it took away from the sales of their "pro" horns.

At any rate, if anyone can help me with pictures, either shared here or through my email (on my website) please do... hopefully the end product will be of interest.

Best,

It's interesting... it seems this is a well respected tuba, and the one I played felt VERY good (owned by a fellow student 20 years ago) but I'm unable to get pics of the lever mechanism... No one here owns one? Or an aftermarket 5th on a 321?
