Greek Preludes

Post by zacorpus »

I'm interested in hearing some alternate interpretations of the Spillman Four Greek Preludes. Does anyone know of a recording out there anywhere? I've searched, but to no success. Is there possibly a long forgotten recording of Rex Connor performing it, as it was written for him?

Thanks for any help!

I believe Wes Jacobs performed these at a facualty recital at Oberlin in 96-8... I don't remember exactly. As all recitals are recorded and archived at the Oberlin Conservatory, there should be a DAT/CD of this. Getting it may be an issue, but it is a place to start looking.

Ed Anderson recorded three of the Preludes and they are available on his CD:

It should be interesting to compare Ed's interpretations on bass trombone to those of a tubist.
