I used it on my euphonium and tubas for about twelve months. All have piston valves, the euph & one tuba have monel valves, the Besson Sovereign EEb stainless steel. It's a very thin oil. I didn't notice any change in valve action or anything else related to specific valve oils. I discontinued with it when my supply finished and now use ULTRAPURE for everything.

This is kind of off topic, but what color are the valve guides on your Besson? My new Besson has black plastic guides and there was some kind of reaction with ultrapure and the valve guides swelled and caused horrible sticking. Going back to another brand eventually fixed it. I have an older Besson with white guides and it wasn't a problem.

What if it becomes discovered that teflon is particulary toxic to your alveoli? I have been noticing that, in the heat of battle, I must re-suck up air already launched into the tuba, or yank my face away from the mpc, which is disruptive to the chops. I wonder what we are breathing in from the bowels of lubricated brass?

I wouldn't be that concerned about it. Many people use teflon coated cookware.

The Denis Wick oil I have isn't clear. You can see the teflon in it. I haven't noticed much difference one way or the other with it. It hasn't caused me any problems but it also hasn't revolutionized anything for me either.

I would say it is a good product though.

Black guides, but 80% worn and soon due for replacement. There hasn't been any reaction with Ultrapure or other oils, either synthetic or petroleum based. Perhaps new guides need a thin oil until worn in a little, and Ultrapure isn't a particularly light oil IMO.
