beginning etudes for C tuba

can anyone suggest an etude book for a beginning tuba student on C tuba? the student is 10 years old and can read music. most of the beginner books cater to Bb or Eb instruments. what about a trumpet book in treble clef? thanks!

Try a BBb book, or Rubank"s beggining book. Then obtain a CC fingering chart off the net. Help her pencil in the fingerings, and name the notes! Knowing CC fingerings will allow her to read "world parts" transposed into treble cleff if she keeps practicing both cleffs. I hope this helps...

Any book with scales will help.

I also like the Getchell-Hovey book I, with its simple tunes, simple phrases. After a couple of weeks you have to get in deeper water whether you feel ready or not.

A 2nd vote for the Getchell-Hovey books - they're a great start!
It will also help the student pick it up A LOT faster to stay strictly on CC rather than bouncing back and forth between BBb and CC (i.e. horn at school VS horn at home, etc.) which is easier to do when Marching season is over. Lastly, just learning a new set of fingerings for CC rather than transposing from BBb will allow them to pick up either one with fewer issues later on when Marching season starts back up. Good luck!
