I do not know the details, but here is the announcement from a while back:

BALL STATE UNIVERSITY -- Assistant/Associate Professor of Music Performance/Tuba/Euphonium. Tenure-track position available August 19, 2011. Responsibilities: teach undergraduate and graduate applied tuba and euphonium students, perform with the Da Camera Brass Quintet and other faculty chamber music ensembles, provide an artistic model in a fine arts setting, maintain a national profile in performance and professional service, recruit and maintain a strong studio, advise students, participate in the student chamber music program, assist in job and graduate student placement, curricular development, and faculty governance. Minimum qualifications: master's degree in music, strong performance history and record of successful college teaching. Preferred qualifications: demonstrated ability to recruit and retain quality students on the college level, exceptional background in tuba performance and/or scholarship, completed doctorate, experience in coaching chamber music and/or teaching low brass repertoire and pedagogy. Send cover letter, curriculum vitae, three letters of reference written within the past two years, short list of additional references who may be contacted, CD of performances from within the past two years representing various styles, and certified transcript copy of highest degree earned to: Dr. John Seidel, Chair, Tuba/Euphonium Search Committee, School of Music, Ball State University, Muncie, IN 47306. Samples of recordings, scholarly publications, and other supporting materials may be included and will be retained. Additional supporting materials may be requested at a later date.
