Besson 7C euphonium mouthpiece

Post by tubaplyer »

I need a little help from anyone who knows about these things.

I have the mouthpiece that came with my middle schools brand new Besson euphonium 3 valver that I played 20 years ago. It is a Besson 7c. I have no idea what the equivalent is but I would like to know if anyone has any info. Google has not been my friend on this one as I believe the same name goes for a trumpet mouth piece. It is very small compared to a 1.5g I have.

Thanks,

Adam

I would venture a guess that since they borrowed the Bach nomenclature it's a copy of a Vincent Bach 7C.

7C Medium 24.75 mm Medium wide, Designed for players who prefer a medium-large cup
shallow not too sharp. to assure a large volume of tone. The rather shallow
cup produces great brilliancy.

Pretty small for euphonium, not a bad choice for a beginner.

It is the standard mouthpiece shipped with the instrument, fine to start with, but as you progress, you will look for a mouthpiece that helps you do different things - high range, low range, different sound etc
