Has anybody on Tubenet bought one of these?

And if so, what do they think of it?

Re: JingBai
One of these passed through my shop last year. Great wrap, and it played "well" but at nearly A=415 Baroque pitch! It was so flat I really couldn't recommend cutting it, so much was going to have to be removed (yes, I leak tested and ported and checked the bore for obstructions...) that it was going to cost the same to fix as by another just like it. 'Course, if it were mine I think I could've made it work...
I really liked the 4th valve wrap - I took notes on that.

Well, if A=440, then Ab=415.3, so it played just a half-step flat ... with the right fingerings, you probably could have made it work without cutting anything. What key was it supposed to be in -- Bb or C?J.c. Sherman wrote:One of these passed through my shop last year. Great wrap, and it played "well" but at nearly A=415 Baroque pitch! Re: JingBai
Its meant to be in Bb, but i asked him if he had a CC, and he said he had. Im not sure about the Bb but he also said the CC was based on a Conn - I know nothing about Conn CC Tubas - do they make rotary valve CC's? But either way he said hed let me have a CC including the 90USD shipping cost for 200USD.
Reckon thats worth a try?

Can't loose much as that price. If it isn't playable, and the rotors have descent compression.... you could take the valve section off and use the rest for a wall sculpture. Parts is parts!
