Stolen Tubas/Sousaphones

Post by SousaSaver »

Hello all -

I am pursuing a personal project here that I think will benefit everyone. I am going to personally catalog all known stolen Tubas and Sousaphones into an excel spreadsheet.

I comb ebay and craigslist DAILY. I work for a music store that deals heavily in used Sousaphones and Tubas. I want to help people find their lost/stolen gear.

If you would like to help me with this, PM me this information:

Name
email address
phone number
model
serial number
finish
any other descriptive information (case/dents/customization etc.)

I will make the data (except phone numbers and email addresses which I will keep private) available on my blog.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Also... I keep a database of every horn (yes... even flutes and clarinets) that passes through here. You'd be surprised of the folks who never bother to record their serial numbers!

Your idea of keep a 'stolen horn' database is good. Make sure to post a copy on your web site or send me a copy.

I have an idea:

Host the spreadsheet at Google Docs. One or two of you can own the spreadsheet and others can view it but not edit it.

You got it Dan.

Where I work EVERY serial number gets recorded and we can pull up invoices for purchased items since the 1970's (I think).

I will work hard to put this together and make sure that everyone who does business in Tubas KNOWS about it and has access to it.
