Re: Rare?
Nope. Many more "ph" Mirafones and many more one piece bell models but this is not a rare horn.TheHatTuba wrote:http://houston.craigslist.org/msg/2353462875.html" target="_blank

Naw...
Rare is the wrong word. There are LESS recording bell Mirafones than fixed bell horns around, but they aren't that rare. Just my opinion...

Re: Rare?
Couldn’t it be made rare by pointing to the low-set outer tone ring?

Re: Rare?
I've changed several recording bells out for fixed upright bells or built detachable upright bells for those horns. Wanna by a couple of recording bells? What's always puzzled me about those horns is that the upright bells were 16 1/2 - 17" or so and the recording bells are 20". I guess the small upright bell just looked too 'dinky' as a recording bell.BRSousa wrote:Naw...

King baritones also had almost flareless recording bells 50 years ago. I remember finding them very similar to the vents on old ships.
