Kopprasch?
What etude would you play for a conservatory audition?

Re: Kopprasch?
Kopprasch offers a wide variety of etudes for you to play, but the bottom line at any conservatory audition is to play what you sound the best on.

Why are you just restricted to Kopprasch? These are primarily technical etudes and don't easily reveal the player's lyrical and melodic abilities.

Improbable as it may be, imagine the player who CAN turn these relatively "sewing machine" etudes into beautiful music! That takes some huevones...Karl H. wrote:Why are you just restricted to Kopprasch? These are primarily technical etudes and don't easily reveal the player's lyrical and melodic abilities.

No clue what version you are using, but the one below has been asked a few times in various places:

Re: Kopprasch?
Most of the college/conservatory audition requirements (regardless of instrument) I've looked at require either one solo and one etude or two solos of contrasting style (lyrical and technical).Karl H. wrote:Why are you just restricted to Kopprasch? I presume the OP already has a lyrical solo picked out.

Re: Kopprasch?
All good and valid posts above. I was simply curious whether the OP had been "told" to pick only a Kopprasch etude or if he had the option of choosing any piece of music.
Peace.
