Hey Schlepperello, happy tuba day to you too... :D
Thanks for the link. I wondered who, how, where and when this was started and how many countries have bought into it?

Are there any tubenetters outside North America who can tell?

Nice interview Mike. That was pretty brave, taking phone requests for tunes. Nobody asked for Bydlo (hah). Seriously, it's great that a tuba player got 10 minutes of air time to demonstrate and promote our instrument. Thanks for doing it.

I used to do a "Day Before Tuba Day" program each year on KFJC FM - 2 to 4 hours worth of tuba-centric recordings (including some Euphoniums/Baritones/Alto Horns. Serpents, and Ophicleides...)

Here are a few of the playlists (not spellchecked!)
http://spidey.kfjc.org/tbag/bjp_playlist2.php?i=25212
http://spidey.kfjc.org/tbag/bjp_playlist2.php?i=11550
http://spidey.kfjc.org/tbag/bjp_playlist2.php?i=9104
http://spidey.kfjc.org/tbag/bjp_playlist2.php?i=4259
http://spidey.kfjc.org/tbag/bjp_playlist2.php?i=1912
http://spidey.kfjc.org/tbag/bjp_playlist2.php?i=22692

Now that I don't have a regular show most of my fill-in programs are very much focused on brass music (of all sorts) like this: http://spidey.kfjc.org/tbag/bjp_playlist2.php?i=31797

I got to empty the pick-up bed of all the cr@p that I put in it when we cleaned the yard. First to a reuse/recycle builders called "Bring Recycling", then to the dump. And look what I saw at Bring! And yes, that is my "Oregon Tuba Ensemble" sweatshirt.

I celebrated the rest of International Tuba Day with a marching band rehearsal, and a cold micro of "O' dark 30".
