Mouthpiece question?
Does anyone out there use a Bach 18 as their quintet piece with an f tuba? I play the G&W Baer Model, so I'm use to big F pieces. Ive got a PT-65 and PT-72 coming in to try, but I hear the Bach's are comfortable to play.

Re: Mouthpiece question?
Intonation is usually good with an 18 in the upper register. But with its bowl cup and a larger throat than a lot of F tuba mouthpieces, it may not be a good fit tonally, depending on the instrument.

Re: Mouthpiece question?
I had pretty good success with a Bach 18 in the school's big Willson F, but that was mostly orchestral stuff. Have the other members of your quintet indicated to you that they'd prefer a deeper darker tone, or a lighter/brighter one? What particular F tuba are you currently using?

Firebird. Im looking for a comfortable mouthpiece with maybe a slightly smaller bore.
