I owned an Eb Couturier helicon, but sold it about 5 years ago. I didn't play it much, My admitedly imperfect memory is that it was a lightweight horn with a fairly small bore and a medium to small sound, the low end was hard to play, and intonation was definitely a challenge. The conical design did not seem to make any difference.

On the plus side, it has very unusual slides - really quite beautiful.
